hi jenny! saw you were asking for feedback on facebook, thought i'd check it out and share my thoughts. i really like some of these! i like your choice of subject, but i think your best work is usually when the sole focus is not on the subject. or i guess i think more wide shots would be a good counterbalance to the close-ups, especially for a viewer who is trying to get a sense of this place. like the 2nd to last photo in 2/15 - it makes the other detailed shots from that day more interesting by putting them in an environment i can imagine myself it.
other favs: the top photo here, the third one too. the 4th photo from march 5! #2 from 2/25.
I took these photos in New Orleans for an independent project in college. I am not studying photography & lack any formal instruction, but I love photography & am rarely found without a camera in hand. This was my 1st visit to New Orleans, & it moved me more than I ever thought possible. I met amazing people & loved getting lost in the city. Any feedback is much appreciated.
I especially enjoyed the top and bottom photo. The top photo is very vibrant even though the setting is a sad one. Bottom photo is dreamlike.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the pictures Isaac. Check back again soon--I've still got a few folders to go through and pull some pictures from.
